Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club High Tea

Private aged care provider Tall Trees Redland Bay will be hosting a high tea to welcome in members of the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club on 14 March.

The club has 190 members with over 450 vehicles of all makes of veteran, vintage, historic and classic vehicles over 30 years old.

Community Manager Anita Baskerville says the residents are thrilled to be meeting with owners of some of the immaculate vintage cars in the region.

“Many of these classic cars were the same or similar to what our residents drove themselves in their younger years,” Anita says.

“It is going to be very exciting for them to relive fond memories of their past just by looking at these older makes and models of cars again.”

Anita says the members visiting will be bringing up to 20 old cars for the residents to see.

“We’ve been told a few to look out for will be a 1950s Sunbeam, 1953 FX Holden, 1979 Ford Escort and 66 Chrysler made in 1940,” Anita says.

“Our male residents in particular, are eagerly awaiting the high tea where they can sit down with car enthusiasts and have a yarn over a cuppa about these impressive vehicles.

“And as we know – they just don’t make them like they used to.”
