Who works at Tall Trees Care Communities?
At Tall Trees our staff members are an incredibly important part of the family. Our employees are not only highly trained; they are pragmatic, understanding, and passionate about building relationships with residents. Staff understand that residents have different requirements, and will ensure that these requirements are met in a manner that is both friendly and professional.
Our 140+ staff deliver fantastic care via our flexible care model, delivering the best outcomes for our residents each and every day. They are passionate about delivering the highest standards of care to our Residents, and work together as a close knit team to achieve this common goal.
Staff at Tall Trees Care Communities work across a range of disciplines in both permanent and casual roles, lead by a caring, passionate and dynamic Senior Management Team. Our Directors Phil, Alan, Gae and Peter are Head of the Tall Trees Family of Staff, and create the warmest and friendliest environment possible for staff to work in and Residents to live in! Staff are supported by Tall Trees Senior Management team as follows:
Gae Munsie, Director of Care and Robyn Bryan, Clinical Care Coordinator lead our experienced, warm and compassionate Care team, comprising of:
- Registered Nurses and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses
- Therapy Aides and Lifestyle Coordinators
Phil Usher and Adan Nicholson, Sales and Marketing Directors support our creative and knowledgeable Marketing, Sales and Networking staff.
Alan Powell, Operations and Development Director, Phil Yaxley, Development Manager and Stephen Turner, Operations Manager oversee our committed and hard working development and operations team, comprising of:
- Community Managers
- Receptionists and Clerical staff
- Head office Operations and Development staff
Kevin Brown, Food Services Manager leads our creative and talented team of Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen hands to ensure a fabulous food services experience for all residents at Tall Trees.
Peter Willemse, Director of Finance and IT and Rick Durie, Financial Controller oversee our clerical and finance staff operating out of our Head Office.
What Tall Trees Staff Do
Through our range of different staff positions we are able to provide totally comprehensive care to our residents. But what do we mean when we say “care”?
At Tall Trees…
Care is delivering nursing assistance of the highest quality to residents in a way that is personal and dignified.
Care is providing numerous options for residents to be active, to get out and socialise, and to have new and exciting experiences.
Care is lending a hand whenever residents need it, whether it’s tending to their plants, giving the floors a vacuum or hanging a painting.
Care is staying in touch, and giving a knock on the door to see how you are and offer a cuppa.
Care is understanding that everyone is different, and delivering individual results that reflect this.
Care is knowing the things that are important to our residents, while delivering on and exceeding expectations.
Training and Development
Through our unique Tall Trees Academy programme, training is provided in-house with internal and external experts in each field. Training and education at Tall Trees begins with a bespoke induction and orientation programme (delivered personally by Alan, Phil and Gae), including infection control, workplace and fire safety, food safety, a detailed review of our model and enough buddy shifts to ensure a thorough understanding of the new staff member’s exciting new role! Care competency education sessions regularly take place at our Communities including medication management, elder abuse, chemical awareness and more.
Ongoing learning and development opportunities continue throughout the year with many training sessions on offer for all staff. Probationary period assessments and yearly performance appraisals offer staff the opportunity to avail of additional training courses, depending on their individual needs and interests.
On top of all of this, at all times possible we offer traineeships and apprenticeships with the Australian Apprenticeship Centre. No matter what your needs or interests, at Tall Trees we aim to build knowledge and skill to ensure lifelong learning and on-going staff development.

Other recognition programmes at Tall Trees include our Manager of the Year Award! This prize is awarded to the Manager who demonstrates not only the wonderful qualities and attributes set out in the Employee of the Year Award, but also demonstrates exceptional leadership and managerial qualities including motivational, supportive, effective, efficient, attentive and inspirational.
